About the author:
My name Kayla Livingston, I am 20 years old and have attended SLCC for the past two years. I’m enrolled in twelve credit hours and work two jobs. I am a cheer coach for Herriman High School and I work at an elementary school in Murray school district. Both of these jobs are very rewarding and sometimes stressful, there never seems to be a dull moment and I definitely feel like I’ve made a difference at the end of the day. I love art and photography and always stay organized. I have a 5 month old Pyrenees Australian Shepard puppy and he keeps me and my fiancé occupied a lot of the time so our Friday nights consist of dog hair and movies.
Editors Note:
I chose this topic because, over the past years, I have become more aware of recycling, and the amount of trash my family produces each week. For my family filling the trashcan is easy but it definitely adds up week after week. I have always wondered what I could do personally to make the recycling at our house more affective and I’ve got my family recycling more soda cans and plastic then ever. Small changes in your own daily habits can have the biggest impact and one that makes this earth a cleaner place to live. Get your family involved and excited about recycling because it can only benefit us in the long run.
