Editors note:
Glutton of pharmaceuticals: I decided to take on this topic because of personal experiences with doctors giving us way more pain killers than we needed for small and even large procedures. Then, hearing the news talk about all of the crimes and overdoses happening because of prescription drugs, I felt something needed to be done. We have very educated doctors to help us with our aches and pains. They write us prescriptions to quiet our complaints, giving us ample to silence our fears and satisfy the dollar. This excess has been filling our cupboards and our minds with the idea that “a pill will fix it”. We in turn have lost our self-control...control of the amount of prescriptions in our cupboards and the understanding of how much is too much.
